About Les Coindries

Welcome to Les Coindries, an enchanting retreat steeped in history and nestled in the heart of the French countryside. Built in the early 1800s, this traditional French farmstead beckons individual travelers and groups alike to experience the charm of the region in style.

As you approach down a quiet lane, the stone buildings with their tiled roofs come into view, set within a private walled garden and surrounded by rolling arable land. The ambiance is one of tranquility, offering the perfect backdrop for a rejuvenating escape. Immerse yourself in the beauty of the surroundings with lovely walks and cycle tracks just a stone's throw away.

Our commitment to preserving the authenticity of Les Coindries began in 1998 with meticulous restoration work. The result is a collection of thoughtfully converted cottages, each adorned with splendid oak beams and retaining the essence of their historical roots. Whether you choose the individual two-bedroom cottage or opt for one of our charming one or two-bedroom gites, you'll find a cozy haven to call your own.

For those seeking relaxation under the French sun, our 11 x 5m swimming pool awaits you. Tucked away in its own walled area, it features a large sun terrace, comfortable seating areas, a pool room, and a refreshing solar shower. A fully equipped utility room is at your disposal for added convenience. Each gite comes complete with its own patio or terrace, complete with table, chairs, and BBQ—ideal for enjoying meals alfresco.

Les Coindries caters to both individual travelers and larger groups, with a total capacity of up to 14 people. For those special gatherings, our courtyard boasts a covered eating and seating area accommodating up to 20 people. Whether you're seeking a tranquil escape individually or planning a group getaway, Les Coindries invites you to create lasting memories in a setting that seamlessly blends history, comfort, and the allure of the French countryside.

our story

In September 2016, we relocated from our home of more than 25 years in a bustling area of Kent to Les Coindries. This move marked a significant change for us, having raised our two sons in our previous long-term home. With backgrounds rooted in the construction industry, we also have experience in owning and operating children's daycare, after-school, and holiday clubs.

Attracted to the enchanting region of France where Les Coindries is situated, captivated by its expansive landscapes, historic medieval cities, charming chateaux, and picturesque gardens—all conveniently accessible by a short drive. The tranquility, abundant wildlife, and the allure of numerous restaurants and vineyards contribute to our appreciation of this area. Embracing rural life, along with the warm hospitality of the local community, further enhances our affection for living at Les Coindries.
